Flat Cap on a Winter Morning
A new generation carries on the northern tradition of flat cap wearing Fitting mudguards and a rack to mountain bikes can be quite tricky and often involves quite a bit of creativity and some DIY. This guy has solved the problem by mounting the mudguard above the rack which still allows his pannier to hang on the side. I do like the little dots down the side of the pannier, which I assume...

No. 6 Cycle Chic is...
riding in style whatever the weather. Rain, temperatures barely above freezing, you still need to get to work or school (or wherever). We’ve seen this guy before  To the casual observer he doesn’t look like a serious cyclist commuting everyday in all weathers (which he clearly is), but that’s the point. You just put on your normal clothes and go! And here’s another...

Cycle Chic in the Rain
I decided it was about time I attempted to find some Cycle Chic in the rain - not a likely prospect you would think… But there you go, in temperatures about 2 degrees above freezing, wearing shades and nonchanlantly coasting down the road on a pink “ladies” (or wimmins) bike. Off he rolls. (And yes I stood there in the pouring rain for 20 minutes with my camera - it would...

Dancing Snowing Shopping
A typical Friday morning, take eldest daughter to school, take youngest daughter to her baby and toddler “dance” class, a trip to the supermarket and then home for lunch. Oh did I mention, on a bike and in a mini snow storm. Most mums would’ve taken the car to do all that (in fact many of those who had were fretting about getting home watching the snow fall through the windows),...

Vintage Raleigh Racer
Locked up next to this rather nice vintage Raleigh racer last week when I was doing some last minute Christmas shopping. (The vintage effect photos were taken on my iphone using hipstamatic)

Japanese Cycle Chic
DB went off to Tokyo for work a couple of months ago, so I packed him off with my camera to get some photos. A lot of them were very blurred, but a few came through - so here’s the best of them! You will notice that most Japanese cyclists cycle on the pavement - they’re not too fond of vehicular cycling either!

Oslo bikes in the dark
At this time of year it is dark by 4pm in Oslo, so cycling in the dark is pretty much essential! Sorry they are very blurred, but you do get the sense of movement through the cold and dark in a very atmospheric way… (OK this is my second go at this post after tumblr ate the first! So fingers crossed this one works)
